Bout of Books 10

BoB-capture

All right, friends, It. Is. On. I am preparing to officially participate in my very first online reading challenge! That’s right, I’m about to get my read on with the Bout of Books 10 Read-a-thon, starting on 5/12/2014 and ending on 5/18/2014. For those of you who don’t know about Bout of Books, here’s some info:

“The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

I will soon be posting a list of goals for the upcoming challenge week, as well as daily updates throughout the read-a-thon. Keep your eyes peeled and your fingers crossed, y’all!

Goodreads 2013 Reading Challenge Update

It should come as no surprise that one of my favorite sites is Goodreads.com. Goodreads is a free website for book lovers to record their reading history; it is also a social networking site in which you make friends and can view others’ bookshelves, book reviews, etc. There’s much more to it than that, but that’s another post altogether…

This year I signed on for the Goodreads 2013 Reading Challenge. I set a goal to read 150 books in 2013. I just logged on to check where I was at for the year, and it looks like things are moving right along. Check out the screenshot below. While you’re at it, why don’t you take a minute to subscribe to Pathologically Literate so you can keep an eye out for further updates throughout the year…
