Weekly Review: Sunday, July 13, 2014

It was a slow week here at the Pathologically Literate household; much reading of books took place. The Boy spent the weekend in Iowa at Grandma Choo-Choo’s house, so I got to have a little bit of very rare alone time – which of course was mostly spent reading in bed. Let’s take a look at my week in books:

  • Review: Fourth of July Creek by Smith Henderson
  • …and more!

The Midwife of Hope River was a wonderful read. I went on a bit of a Ron Rash binge this week; The World Made Straight was the best of that bunch. The Virtues of Oxygen was an easy read, but hard to take emotionally at times. I really liked A Long Time Gone, and The Last Telegram was yet another piece of historical fiction that struck my fancy big time. Although I missed The Boy, I really dug the alone time I had this weekend – it was nice to read without being interrupted every two to three minutes… Until next week, folks – Happy Reading!

What’s your favorite thing to do when you get some alone time?
