Library Love is a recurring post in which I share each week’s bounty from my public libraries.
Library Love is back, y’all! I haven’t posted my library books for the last couple of weeks because things have been busy, and because I hadn’t had that many books checked out at the time. Things have changed, now, though – oh, yes they have! I found eight – count ‘em, eight – great books this week that I can’t wait to dive into. Let’s take a look:
- Last Night at the Blue Angel by Rebecca Rotert
- When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead
- The Read-Aloud Handbook, Fifth Edition by Jim Trelease
- Ripper by Isabel Allende
- The Care and Management of Lies by Jacqueline Winspear
- A Fall of Marigolds by Susan Meissner
- East of Eden by John Steinbeck
- Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
The Boy and I are both going to read When You Reach Me, individually, together (did that make sense?). Time for the Pathologically Literate Mother/Son Book Club! Woo-hoo! I read a rave review of Last Night at the Blue Angel and can’t wait to get started on it. The Read-Aloud Handbook is a classic that I’ve had on my TBR list for a while now and wanted to get out of the way before our new homeschool year began. The Care and Management of Lies – well, need I say any more? Duh. A Goodreads friend recommended A Fall of Marigolds, I’m considering participating in an East of Eden read-a-long, and I had a strong urge to read Fangirl after the fabulousness that was Eleanor & Park… My reading has slowed down a bit as I’ve begun to plan for the 2014-2015 homeschool year, so these books should last me a while. Until next time, Happy Reading!
What goodies have you found at your local library lately?

Hooray for libraries. My sons and I found ALL our vacation reads at the library including the Ranger’s Apprentice series’ final two books (12 year-old) and several Captain Awesome titles (9 year-old). I found new(ish) titles from Jojo Moyes and Peter Heller, an oldie by Kate Atkinson and finally read Silver Linings Playbook. A great week.
Sounds like a great haul! Love Jojo Moyes! Yes, The Boy stocked up on reading material for himself as well this week – mostly non-fiction this trip.
