library-love-crayon

Library Love is a recurring post in which we share each week’s bounty from our public libraries.

We finally made it to the library this week, y’all – the real library, that is, not just our online libraries. It was nice spending some time there, browsing for books and reading together in those cushy chairs. While I pulled a fairly good haul, I’ll only actually be reading one of these books this week, as I’m participating in the Bout of Books 10 Read-a-thon and have chosen just one of the following books for my reading challenge. I tried to talk The Boy into participating with me, but that was a futile exercise in many, many ways… Let’s take a look at what we both found this week:

Pathologically Literate’s Books:

The Boy’s Books:

I’m most excited to read Shotgun Lovesongs and No Book but the World – I’ve heard great things about both of them, and can’t wait until next week to get started on them. I’ll be reading Still Life with Bread Crumbs as part of my reading challenge this week – I always love me some Anna Quindlen, so that should be a good one. I’m super excited to read Miss Spitfire with The Boy – I loved Helen Keller’s story when I was a child, and am quite interested in reading this fictional version. The Great Unexpected is written by the same author as Love That Dog, one of the sweetest middle grade books ever written – I’m hoping The Boy enjoys it as much as we enjoyed Love That Dog. The Boy always loves some Big Nate, of course, and hopefully he’ll enjoy the rest of the books I picked especially for him, as well. It’s going to be an exciting week as I get my read on in the BoB Read-a-thon – wish me luck, y’all!

What did you find at the library last time you were there?
