Library Love is a recurring post in which I share each week’s bounty from my public libraries.
Well, y’all, all is well once again at my local public library! Books have been found and returned, fines have been paid, and there is a smile once again on our librarian’s face when The Boy and I walk through those front doors. Whew! It is not easy being on her bad side. We had a great time spending the day at the library yesterday, completing some of our lessons there for a change of scenery. The Boy found some good reading material – which we’ll take a look at next week – and I got a lot of reading time for myself while he was toiling away at his schoolwork. I made some great finds, myself, as well:
- The Aviator’s Wife by Melanie Benjamin
- Before You Know Kindness by Chris Bohjalian
- The Buffalo Soldier by Chris Bohjalian
- Alias Grace: A Novel by Margaret Atwood
- While Beauty Slept by Elizabeth Blackwell
- Prayers for the Stolen by Jennifer Clement
The Aviator’s Wife has been on my TBR list for-just-about-ever, so it’s almost a relief to finally read it. Alias Grace was recommended by a fellow book blogger who compared it to Burial Rites, so I just had to check it out. I’d been anticipating Prayers for the Stolen since before it was released and am very excited to finally have it in my hands! While Beauty Slept is supposed to be an enchanting and captivating tale, so I think chances are good that I’ll like the novel. And, of course, Chris Bohjalian is always good for a good read. As always, I’ll keep you up to date on how things pan out. Until then, my friends… Happy Reading!
