Library Love is a recurring post in which I share each week’s bounty from the public library.
I try, y’all. I try, and I try, and I try. But these darned library books just won’t stop calling my name! I don’t know what my problem is – it’s not like they’re going anywhere. They’re library books – they’re always going to be there. But my finger just starts getting itchy and starts inching toward my laptop touchpad and all of a sudden, BOOM! Five more books to read before I can get to the ones I own. And that’s not to mention all of the novels I have reserved… Aarrgghh! I share with you now, in shame, my latest library haul:
- Claire DeWitt & the City of the Dead by Sara Gran
- The Light in the Ruins by Chris Bohjalian
- Mama Ruby by Mary Monroe
- Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand
- The Smart One by Jennifer Close
- The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith {J.K. Rowling}
I’ve heard great things about the Claire DeWitt series, so I’m really looking forward to starting that novel. I’ve been waiting for ages to read The Light in the Ruins – I’m so pumped that it finally came off of the reserved list! My BFF has been after me for years to read The Upper Room by Mary Monroe, but I found out that the more recently published Mama Ruby was written as a prequel to that novel, so that’s what I’m reading first. Another book I’ve been wanting to read for quite a while is Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand – oooh, shivers of excitement about that one, friends… I’m told The Smart One is a pretty good read, and I’m so interested to find out what’s up with The Cuckoo’s Calling – aren’t you? I’ve got several ARCs up for review in the next few weeks, so add those to my ever-increasing library stash, and I’ve got some Reading-with-a-capital-R to do! I’m reviewing some really great books over the next few weeks, as well,, so keep your eyes peeled, folks – you never know when you’re going to discover the book of your dreams…
When was the last time you made it to your library? Tell us what you found!
