Well, y’all, tragedy dropped in at the Pathologically Literate Household this week. Poppie and The Boy went to the Lancaster County Super-Fair on Friday, where The Boy won himself a goldfish {spending $20 at the Ball Toss in the process!}. Yes, Mr. Bubbles was a mighty fine goldfish – for the entire 1.45 hours he lived in our home. Yes, you heard me right, y’all – at 9:54 PM on Friday, August 2, 2013, Mr. Bubbles passed on from this world. At his side were Poppie, The Boy, and Ruby. It was a sorrowful affair, where many tears were shed {The Boy is a tad sensitive}. Burial has not yet been scheduled; until such time, Mr. Bubbles will currently reside in the Pathologically Literate Freezer. Please send donations to Goldfish Sanctuary in lieu of flowers.

A couple of the books I read this week were ho-hum, and a couple were really great. I really loved The Enchanted Life of Adam Hope. I laughed out loud at Her Royal Spyness – I can’t wait to read further into that series. The Lost Husband was a nice read, as well. The Unfinished Work of Elizabeth D. seemed a little… pointless, if you know what I mean. I just never really felt the story, you know? Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power was quite interesting, as well as quite loooong and a little dry in places. I’m looking forward to the books I have lined up for the coming week, as well as the books I’m reviewing over the coming week. They’re all great books. Read ‘em and weep, y’all.
