Can you believe July is almost over?! Where has the summer gone? School starts in just three weeks! We’ve got so much to do before then… And just after we’ve finally gotten settled into our summer routine, we now have to start easing back into a back-to-school routine. Lordy, lordy… Not much exciting going on here in the Pathologically Literate household this week – unless you count a trip to the salon exciting. I finally got around to getting my hair cut.. I hadn’t realized that my hair had grown almost to my waist, so they took off eight inches. It’s still too long; it needs another two to three inches off for my trademark bun to work correctly. The sad part is if I’d gotten that extra two or three inches cut off along with the first eight, it would have been enough hair to donate to Locks of Love! Bummer. That’s something I’ve always wanted to do. So, that’s my new goal! No more haircuts for me – for a while, anyway. While I wasn’t at the salon, I was trying to catch up on my reading:
Books I read this week:
- Honeymoon in Paris by Jojo Moyes
- Kind of Kin by Rilla Askew
- The Sound of Broken Glass by Deborah Crombie
- Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson
- Eleven Days by Lea Carpenter
Book I’m currently in the middle of:
- Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
Books I reviewed this week:
- Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman
- The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf
- Family Likeness by Caitlin Davies
Upcoming reviews for the week of July 22nd:
- These Things Hidden by Heather Gudenkauf
- The Midwife’s Confession by Diane Chamberlain
- …and more!
OK, y’all, let me just say that Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson is an a-ma-zing book! It’s 495 pages and I read it in about five hours. I could not put it down. So. Good. Trust me, you so want to read this book. Keep your eye out over the next few weeks for my review. In the meantime, have yourselves a happy little week of your own!
What did you read this week?
