Library Love is a recurring post in which I share each week’s bounty from the public library.
I will confess something to you – I didn’t actually go to my libraries this week – all of the books I’m going to share with you are books I’d had on hold that finally became available for checkout in the last week. Oh, but what good books they are! I’ve been waiting for some of these for months! Let’s hope they’re worth it. And without further ado…
- The Other Child by Charlotte Link
- Eleven Days by Lea Carpenter
- Confederates in the Attic by Tony Horwitz
- Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt
- The Enchanted Life of Adam Hope by Rhonda Riley
- Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
- The Unfinished Work of Elizabeth D. by Nichole Bernier
- Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power by Jon Meacham
Confederates in the Attic has been on hold literally for at least five months, so it’s about time my turn came up. I’ve been anxious to read the Thomas Jefferson biography for ages, as well. I’m so hopeful that Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close will live up to my expectations – although I’ve heard it’s a real tear-jerker. Eleven Days is about a single mother whose son {her only child} is in the military and goes missing while on a special forces mission – ugh, one of my biggest nightmares about The Boy! Better to face my fears, though, right? I’ve heard good things about it, so I’m looking forward to reading it. I don’t know how I’m going to read all of these before they’re due the first week of August, though, because I still have other library books to read and I have several ARC’s to review by right around the same date… I guess I’ll just be reading like a mo-fo for the rest of July! Why do I keep doing this to myself?! All right, y’all, that’s my library experience (or lack of one) for this week. Don’t forget to check out your local public libraries as well!
Did you make it to your local library this week? Tell me all about it!
