Is your summer moving as fast as ours is? Geez Louise, it’s just flying by! Only a few more weeks until school starts {enter song of praise here}. We haven’t accomplished nearly as much as I’d planned here in the Pathologically Literate Household – we’d better get our butts in gear! We have bird feeders to make, water gun shooting galleries to construct, science experiments to complete… Poppie and The Boy have been off on outside adventures most days so far, so we haven’t had a chance to do much here at home, I suppose. Besides Reading Time, that is. Here’s what I read this week:
Books I read this week:
- The Hit by David Baldacci
- Backseat Saints by Joshilyn Jackson
- Light on Snow by Anita Shreve
- Family Likeness by Caitlin Davies
- Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer
Book I’m currently in the middle of:
- Honeymoon in Paris by JoJo Moyes
Books I reviewed this week:
- We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver
- Good Kings Bad Kings by Susan Nussbaum
- Seduction by M.J. Rose
- Little Joe by Michael E. Glasscock III
Upcoming reviews for the week of July 15, 2013:
- Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman
- The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf
- …and more!
So, do y’all remember last week, when I was whining about finding “that one great book” that blows the others out of the water? Well, I found it! Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer is one of the best books I’ve read in a very long time. It totally blew me away! Oh, it was so outrageously funny and so breathtakingly heart-stopping at the same time… You have got to read it. I mean it. Go. Go now. Snatch this book up and get to work, folks. Then get back to me and tell me all about how right I was…
What did you read this week?
