Well, y’all, I don’t really know what to tell you… This was a fairly uneventful week here at the Pathologically Literate Household. We had ZERO playdates at our house and ZERO sleepovers, which allowed me to recharge and get the house back to ship-shape condition (well, ship-shape for me, that is – that’s probably still messy to someone else). The Boy and I just had some great quality time together – very nice. Poppie took The Boy to the fireworks stand on Friday, so they’ve been out in the driveway every evening lighting off fireworks. Ruby alternates between whimpering and barking at the smoke bomb smoke as she stares through the window. I will likely be writing my next blog post from The Clink, as The Po-Po will surely be rolling up any minute to cite us for early firework usage. The Boy is too young, and Poppie is too old, so I’m the obvious one to get thrown in The Slammer… Next time you see me I’ll be wearing a do-rag and will have a jailhouse tattoo on my arm that says “Tootie’s Bitch”. While I await my fate, here’s where I stand on the literary front:
Books I read this week:
- Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman
- The Longings of Wayward Girls by Karen Brown
- No Mark Upon Her by Deborah Crombie
- The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf
Book I’m currently in the middle of:
- Seduction by M.J. Rose
Books I reviewed this week:
- Is This Tomorrow by Caroline Leavitt
- The Postmistress by Sarah Blake
- Learning to Swim by Sara J. Henry
Upcoming reviews for the week of July 1, 2013:
- The Longings of Wayward Girls by Karen Brown
- Med Head by James Patterson & Hal Friedman
- We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver
None of the books I read this week were really mind-blowing; I was somewhat disappointed. I like to have my mind blown at least once a week. Alas, we can’t always get what we want. Maybe Tootie will know the names of some good books. I’ll let you know what I find out. Have a great week, y’all!
What did you read this week?
