Wow! Can you believe it’s already June? This year has passed so quickly, I can hardly believe it. It was somewhat of a quiet week for us. The Boy had two baseball games scheduled but both were rained out by severe thunderstorms in the area. He spent the weekend in Iowa with his grandmother so I was on my own for a couple of days. Not that I did anything too exciting – did a little cleaning, caught up with Long Island Medium (love Theresa Caputo!), did some reading (duh!). Hopefully we’ll get to actually see a little baseball action this coming week – The Boy is anxious to get out there and strut his stuff! All right, peeps, here’s what I’ve been up to on the literary front:
Books I read this week:
- Benjamin Franklin’s Bastard by Sally Cabot
- Where Memories Lie by Deborah Crombie
- Pictures of You by Caroline Leavitt
- Inferno by Dan Brown
Book I’m currently in the middle of:
- Every Last One by Anna Quindlen
Books I reviewed this week:
- The Cove by Ron Rash
- The House at the End of Hope Street by Menna van Praag
- Icy Sparks by Gwyn Hyman Rubio
Upcoming Reviews for the week of June 3, 2013:
- The Finishing School by Gail Godwin
- The Paris Wife by Paula McClain
- Benjamin Franklin’s Bastard by Sally Cabot
It was slow going for me this week as far as reading goes. I technically only read three books all week; I really only read Inferno mostly on Saturday, while The Boy was out of town. I’m not sure why I didn’t get much reading done. I was pretty tired, so maybe my brain just wasn’t working full-time. None of the books I read really blew my mind, although Inferno was pretty great. The Boy comes home around lunchtime today – I’m not sure I like him being gone for entire weekends at a time. It gets too quiet around here. I never thought I’d hear myself saying that, but… I guess there’s always a first time for everything. We’ve got a busy week coming up but hopefully I’ll be able to fit my reading in. Hope all of you have a great one!
What have you been reading this week?
