It’s here, y’all – summer vacation! Friday was the first official day of summer vacay, and The Boy took full advantage by sleeping in as long as he could. I hope he doesn’t think he’ll be doing that all summer long, because he will be in for a rude awakening. Ha! Rude awakening, get it? Didn’t even do that on purpose – oh, we are a witty, witty folk here at Pathologically Literate, I will tell you what! It was sleepover time on Saturday night – I put my foot down at one friend this time, though. I’m still recovering from the slumber party from hell birthday sleepover a couple of weeks ago. The last few books I’ve read have kind of been let-downs, but I just started one that I think is going to pick things up a bit. Finally! Well, I’ll keep my fingers crossed anyway; I’m only on page five… OK, people, here’s the lowdown:
Books I’ve read this week:
- Icy Sparks by Gwyn Hyman Rubio
- The Finishing School by Gail Godwin
- Darwin’s Ghosts by Rebecca Stott
- The House at the End of Hope Street by Menna van Praag
- The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
- Waiting for Superman by Karl Weber
Book I’m currently in the middle of:
- Benjamin Franklin’s Bastard by Sally Cabot
Books I reviewed this week:
- The Orchardist by Amanda Coplin
- Flora by Gail Godwin
- The Camel Bookmobile by Masha Hamilton
Upcoming reviews for the week of May 27, 2013:
- The Cove by Ron Rash
- Icy Sparks by Gwyn Hyman Rubio
- And more…
And that, my friends, is Pathologically Literate’s Weekly Review! I hope all of you had a great week, too, and that the coming week is even better. Enjoy your summer!
How was your week? Did you read anything exciting? Did anything else exciting happen for you?
